Big Rock stage 2

Stage 2 of Big Rock, a country residence, added many functions using principles of the original composition. The composition of the original light pavilion was extended and added to, with solid elements of the wall protecting the courtyard and elevated swimming pool. The placement of the 22m pool against the contours allows the space in front of the main pavilion to remain open. The position of the pool, in its own importance, points towards the distant views with the volume of water enclosed with the glass end. Both pool and large underground wine cellar are part of the ‘terra’ in which the vines are growing. Big Rock can sleep up to 17 family members and friends, but is designed to be cosy for just 2.
